Neuro Intensive Care Unit
Equipped with latest state-of-the-art equipments like ultra modern ventilators, cardiac monitors, pulse oximeter, doppler, external pacemaker and ultrasonogram the Neuro-Intensive Unit is geared to meet the highly specific requirements of NeuroSurgical treatment. The Brain Injury Care Unit forms a specialized sub-unit within this to treat Brain Injured victims.
So far, 30,000 head-injured patients have undergone treatment in this Intensive Care Unit.

Micro Surgery
The Brain and Spine Center boasts of the latest WILD LEICA 695 microscope with video monitor that is used for micro-neuro surgery. At the KG Brain & Spine Center, Micro Neuro Surgerical procedures are carried out for Brain & Spine problems, viz.
- Skull-base surgery, aneurysm, clipping & excision of arterio-venous malformations
- Removal of all varieties of brain tumors, including skull-base tumors, spinal tumors, etc.
- Instrumentation of vertebral column for patients with fracture of spine
- Stabilization of the junction of skull & vertebral column in case of craniovertebral anomaly
- Treatment of congenital malformations of the skull & spinal column
- CTSP sterotactic system is used for biopsy of the deep brain lesion and drainage of pus & CYST.
Neuro Imaging
The center enjoys the availability of an advanced whole body Spiral CT Scanner (Wipro-GE) round-the-clock. This provides the ability to perform CT guided biopsies. The other Hi-tech equipment available at the center include HITACHI MRI Open Magnet Scanner with laser printing system, a 1000 MAS, Siemens X-Ray with IITV is used for balloon compression in Trigeminal Operation. The state-of-the-art technology options available offer advanced high resolution imaging capabilities with unmatched comfort and ‘C’ Arm Facility for Cloward Operation.
