The Kidney Center at K.G. Hospital is a Nephrology super-specialty tertiary care unit that has been in existence for the past 18 years. The center provides quality treatment in the field of Nephrology comparable to anything in the West. The various treatment options available involve normal medical facilities to dialysis to kidney transplantations.

Backed up by a modern theatre complex and a 24-hour fully equipped diagnostic capability, the department also runs a one-year diploma course for dialysis technicians.

K.G. Kidney Center is the one amongst the 15 centers in the country and 2nd centre in Tamilnadu to get recognised by the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi to conduct Dip.N.B program in the field of Nephrology . At present Dr. Bibekananda Panda, a Paediatrician from Orissa and Dr. K. Premanand, a Physician are doing their Postgraduate training programme in the field of Nephrology.
