The Department of Urology was established approximately 17 years ago in K.G. Hospital and since then has been providing critical Urological healthcare services to the needy patients.
The department runs an OPD consultation everyday for the walk-in patients not requiring hospitalization. The department also has a separate casualty unit where patients with critical urologic trauma are treated.
The department provides advanced treatment for urinary stone disease, obstructive tension like PUJ Obstruction (Endopyelotomy) Ureteral Obstruction, and Bladder obstructions with advanced Endoscopic equipment (Cystoscopy, Ureteroscopy and Nephroscopy instruments) and C-Arm image intensifier available at its facility.
Bladder reconstruction (Neobladder reconstructive following Radical cystectomy, augmentation cystoplasty for TB Contracted bladder or Neurogenic bladders) Ureteral reconstruction, (Boari flap or ileal substitutions according to length ureter damaged) Urethroplastry for structure urethra are also carried out. The department enjoys access to the Dialysis unit of the Kidney Center for Nephrological complaints.
The department also provides treatment for sub fertile male referrals. It provides comprehensive Seminal Analysis, with special staining technique, hormonal profile (FSH, LH) Testosterone prolactin and Doppler study for varicocele and impotence to pinpoint the problem and provides consult on management in vasal obstructions which includes microscopic vasovasal or vasoepididymal anastamosis.
