Dear Shri Dr. Bakthavathsalam,
VANAKKAM !
I am writing this note of appreciation from the bottom of my heart to express my heartfelt gratefulness and thanks for the compassionate and considerate care shown to me by K.G. Hospital's Chairman, Dr. G. Bakthavathsalam, and his expert team consisting of Dr. T. Jayarama Pai (Chief Cardiac Surgeon), Dr. Kishor, Dr. Vijayakumar, Dr. Narayanan and other eminent staff in the department.
Right from the time of my admission till discharge, I received excellent attention from all quarters when I was admitted with acute chest pain. Immediately upon admission, I underwent an angiogram. The angiogram revealed critical blocks in the coronary arteries and bypass surgery was advised. On the next day of angiogram, I developed chest pain. I was, therefore, taken up for emergency bypass surgery.
Thanks to the team of K.G. Heart Hospital doctors, who gave me rebirth.
I have visited innumerable hospitals in the past few years, but never in my life did I come across a hospital of this stature like K.G. Hospital where everyone did their mite to attend to the minute details of the patient from time to time. It is not as if the hospital doctors and staff attended to me by virtue of my being a Member of Parliament. I found that they were extending the same type of hospitality and courtesy to everyone who visited the hospital for treatment, irrespective of caste, creed, sex or economic criterion.
K.G. Hospital definitely has set in excellence in delivering compassionate care with utmost sincerity and commitment. Never did I have any chance to find any shortcoming or difficulty to complain. The entire team of doctors, nurses and staff who attend to me were always proactive to meet my emerging demands and requirements.
At the time of admission, I was in a very critical state. I must profusely thank the doctors and nurses who as a team saved my life.
K.G. Hospital definitely needs to be recognized as a national institution delivering healthcare of a high order at affordable rate to the people.
What touched my heart the most was the Surgeon Dr. Jayarama Pai, who performed the surgery, was with me with the other doctors who were involved in the surgery were around me even after the surgery to monitor my progress and ensure that I make satisfactory progress. This sort of commitment and adherence to the highest values of Medicine cannot be seen in any hospital in the world. This makes the patient doubly sure that the surgery has been done successfully and even if anything goes wrong after some time after the surgery, there is nothing to be worried upon, as the surgeons who had performed the surgery could be counted upon any time for attending to complications arising after the surgery. This gives reassurance to the patients and definitely this will go a long way in their getting healed faster.
I will be failing in my duty if I do not mention about the Chairman, who made it a point to visit me daily or enquired about me over the phone, in spite of his busy schedule. I also found him visiting all other patients like me on grand rounds every day to enquire as to how the patients were progressing.
Never in the history of Medicine, I have seen a Chairman directly getting involved in minor details in a hospital. But here is a Chairman who personally involves himself to ensure that the patients obtain the best care and treatment. Towards this end, I have seen with my own eyes as to how he has been interacting with them and in turn directing his doctors to ensure that the patients receive the much needed care and attention.
I must also thank the nurses who attended to me personally for my healthy progress.
K.G. Hospital is obviously the only hospital in South India, which treats patients as God and does everything to please them.
The hospital has today become so famous and great only by virtue of team effort prevailing at all levels, coupled with the sense of dedication and commitment prevailing at all levels.
I wish K.G. Hospital to become a nationally recognized hospital and a Centre of Excellence.
