It's never too late to begin MAKING NEW CHOICES for a healthier Heart. Whether it is eating low fat foods, giving up smoking or reducing extra weight, you can take steps today itself to prevent a heart attack.
Coronary Artery Disease
Coronary arteries supply Oxygenated Blood to the Heart musculature. In Coronary Artery disease, the clogging of the coronary arteries reduces or at times completely blocks the blood flow to the heart musculature causing an heart attack.
It is easy to identify your own heart Risk Factors. If you conform to any of the below, you are at risk.
- High Blood Pressure
- Smoking
- High Blood Cholesterol
- Obesity
- Lack of Exercise
Preventive surveillance requires regular functional status check of your heart to prevent an impending heart attack. The way to do this is the popular Tread Mill Test. K.G. Hospital provides regular Tread Mill check-ups both as a part of Comprehensive Heart Check-up and individually to those who request the same.
What is the Tread Mill Test?
Tread Mill comprises of a moving conveyor belt whose gradient and speed can be modified in a phased manner. The patient is made to walk on the moving conveyor belt thereby creating physical exertion and stress to the patient's heart. ECG equipment in the TMT machine continuously monitor and record the heart activity, thereby identifying exact funcational capacity of the heart.
Uses of TMT:
- To identify and confirm Anginal pain (Heart pain)
- Assessment of the blood flow and condition of the heart muscle.
- Identification of any potential heart risks.
Timings: All weekdays except Sundays.
Note:
- Please wear loose fitting clothes when you come for the test.
- Please do not smoke prior to the test.
- Please bring along an Attendant (only One) along with you.
- Please bring your most recent ECG & X-Ray reports.
